She is a Honorary Director of MSME Chamber of Industry and helping the chamber to grow nationally & Internationally. She an Archietect. She currently completed graduation at the University of Pennsylvania USA with a Master’s in Environmental Building Design. Since her childhood she always love the thrill of solving a problem be it in math, in Physics, or in everyday life. She do this with such an enthusiasm that she was elected as a student representative for five terms during her undergradute program where she promoted and led the development of student voice in the school environment. As an integral part of this program she had undertaken a number of field studies, which helped her undertand human activities and behavior and the value of space inside and outside and the detailes to be incorporated in a design. In an endeavor to gain hands on work experience during her undergraduate program, she interned with fiits Architects, USA in 2011 after semester VI during the summer holidays and worked in the re-development project after Alabama tornado. She also associated with SPA Design Consultants Pvt. Ltd., india and did her professional practice assignment with Sangwaan Architects, India. These experiences gave me insights into the relationship between a building’s space and its functionality and also helped her understand how in real world architects conceive, design and implement plans and create beautiful habitations. Buildings themselves were never what drew her to architecture. Her fascination was always with the spaces created, the composition and shaping of masses and spaces - solids and voids which evolve to become functional, attractive and sustainable structures -- to learning about the what, why and how of people’s lifestyles - to analyse how a designed space may be perfectly in sync in a certain culture but may create chaos in another.

Padmashri Dr Rajagopalan Vasudevan

Rajagopalan Vasudevan, is an Indian scientist who has worked mainly in waste management. He is currently a professor in Thiagarajar College of Engineering. He developed an innovative method to reuse plastic waste to construct better, more durable and very cost-effective roads. Since 2001, Rajagopalan Vasudevan, Professor of Chemistry at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai and his team at the Centre for Studies on Solid Waste Management (CSSWM) have been engaged in solving two pressing issues at the same time- bad roads and ever increasing plastic waste. Dr. Vasudevan, known as the ‘Plastic Man of India,’ has been praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also awarded the Padma Shri in the Year 2018. About Dr. Rajagopalan Vasudevan Padma Shri Dr. Rajagopalan Vasudevan is an Indian scientist working mainly in waste management. Currently a professor in Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Dr. Vasudevan has developed an innovative method to reuse plastic waste to construct better, more durable and very cost-effective roads. The roads also show greater resistance to damages caused by heavy rains and ‘Plastic roads’ constructed since 2002 have not developed blisters or potholes (1). His road construction method is now widely used to construct roads in rural India. For his contribution he is often referred to as “Plastic Man of India” and was awarded India’s fourth highest civilian honour Padma Shri in 2018. Plastic Roads: Dr. Vasudevan developed an innovative method to reuse plastic waste to construct roads. His process, patented in 2006, involves mixing shredded plastic with hot gravel and adding it to molten asphalt. Plastic and bitumen bond well together because both are petroleum products. This combination enhances the road’s ability to carry weight, as well as its life. Plastone: Plastone can be used for flooring, especially outdoors. It can be a cheap and strong substitute for cement blocks, which have a tendency to wither away in constant rain.

Padmashri Dr Kartikeya Sarabhai

Shri. Kartikeya Sarabhai Designation: Founder Director of the CEE, Chairman of Sabarmati Ashram Biography: Kartikeya Vikram Sarabhai, one of the world’s leading environmental educators, is the Founder Director of the Centre for Environment Education (CEE). Established in 1984, CEE works across India impacting formal and informal environmental education and creating public awareness about conservation and sustainable development. He is the Managing Trustee of the Nehru Foundation for Development (NFD) established by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, and is closely associated with various institutions connected with NFD namely the Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre, VIKSAT, CHETNA and Khamir. Mr. Sarabhai is the Chairman of Ambalal Sarabhai Enterprises Ltd and its associated group of companies. He has successfully steered the company towards recovery and growth since he took charge in the year 1994. Mr Sarabhai is a Chairperson of the Sabarmati Ashram Preservation and Memorial Trust and was the Chair of the Governing Council of the Earth Charter International. He is currently the Chairperson of the Curricular Area Group for Environmental Education of the NCERT which is tasked with preparing the new textbook on the environment. He is associated with a number of educational and charitable trusts, several committees set up by the Government of India and other national and international organizations in the fields of environment, wildlife protection, culture and education. Mr Sarabhai served as a member of the UNESCO Reference Group for the UN Decade for Education for Sustainable Development as well as Chair of UNESCO’s Global Action Program (GAP). Mr Sarabhai was educated at Cambridge University, UK and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2012, the Government of India conferred the Padma Shri Award upon him for exceptional and distinguished service in the field of Environmental Education. Among his several awards are the Olive Green Crusader Award from the International Advertising Association and the International Brandwein Medal from the Brandwein Institute and the IUCN- CEC.

Padmashri G.D. Yadav

Ganapati Dadasaheb Yadav, better known as G. D. Yadav, is an Indian chemical engineer, educator and academic. He is currently president of the Indian Chemical Society. He has made contributions to green chemistry, catalysis, chemical reaction engineering, process development and nanotechnology. Prof. Ganapati Dadasaheb Yadav (G. D. Yadav) Padma Shri | Eminent Chemical Engineer | Scientist | Academician & Green Technology Expert Prof. Ganapati Dadasaheb Yadav, widely known as Prof. G. D. Yadav, is one of India’s distinguished chemical engineers, scientists, educators and academicians. He has made significant contributions to Green Chemistry, Catalysis, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Process Development, Nanotechnology and Sustainable Technologies. Prof. Yadav served as the Founding Vice-Chancellor of the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, from 2009 to 2019 and is currently associated with the institution as an Honorary Professor. He has also played an important role in strengthening India’s scientific research ecosystem and served as the National Science Chair at the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). His research spans several important areas of sustainable technology, including biomass valorization, green hydrogen production, carbon dioxide utilization, energy technologies and environmentally sustainable processes. He has authored and co-authored more than 570 peer-reviewed research publications, holds 136 patents, and has an h-index of 71. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to science and technology, he was conferred the prestigious Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2016. He is an elected Fellow of several prestigious scientific academies, including the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Indian National Science Academy (INSA), The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). In 2024, Prof. Yadav was featured in the Asian Scientist 100, recognizing influential scientists from across Asia. In 2025, he was awarded the Bhatnagar Fellowship by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Early Life & Education Prof. G. D. Yadav was born on 14 September 1952 in Arjunwada, a small village in the Radhanagari region of Kolhapur district, Maharashtra. He joined the Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT), University of Mumbai, in 1970 and earned his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering in 1974. He subsequently pursued doctoral research at the same institution under the guidance of renowned scientist Prof. Man Mohan Sharma, completing his PhD in 1980. Industry & Corporate Contributions Alongside his distinguished academic and research career, Prof. Yadav has maintained a strong association with the Indian chemical and life-sciences industry. He has served as an Independent Director and scientific advisor to several leading companies, contributing his expertise in technology, innovation, research and sustainable development. Shri Rajendra Singh

Water man of India

Dr. Rajendra Singh (born 1959) is a renowned Indian environmentalist and water conservationist known as the "Waterman of India." He is the founder of Tarun Bharat Sangh (TBS), an NGO based in Rajasthan. He revolutionized rural water management using traditional Johads (earthen dams) to revive rivers and restore water security, earning him the Ramon Magsaysay Award (2001) and the Stockholm Water Prize (2015). Shri Rajendra Singh “Waterman of India” | Water Conservationist | Environmentalist | Ramon Magsaysay Award & Stockholm Water Prize Laureate Shri Rajendra Singh is one of India’s most respected water conservationists, environmentalists and social activists. Hailing from Alwar district in Rajasthan, he is widely known as the “Waterman of India” for his decades-long commitment to water conservation, community empowerment and environmental sustainability. He was honoured with the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2001 and received the internationally acclaimed Stockholm Water Prize in 2015. His lifelong work has demonstrated how community participation, traditional knowledge and sustainable water-management practices can transform drought-prone regions. Shri Rajendra Singh is closely associated with the Tarun Bharat Sangh (TBS), an organization founded in 1975. Through his work with rural communities in Rajasthan’s semi-arid regions, he has played a pivotal role in reviving traditional water-harvesting systems and empowering communities to manage their own water resources. Transformative Contribution to Water Conservation Beginning with grassroots efforts in 1985, Shri Rajendra Singh and the Tarun Bharat Sangh worked extensively with local communities to address water scarcity. Their efforts contributed to the construction and revival of more than 8,600 johads and other water conservation structures, helping improve water availability across more than 1,000 villages. His work has also contributed to the revival of several rivers in Rajasthan, notably the Arvari, Ruparel, Sarsa, Bhagani and Jahajwali rivers. The revival of these water systems stands as a powerful example of how traditional water wisdom, community ownership, rainwater harvesting and locally appropriate technologies can create sustainable solutions to water scarcity. National & Environmental Leadership Shri Rajendra Singh has made significant contributions to the national discourse on water security, river conservation, rainwater harvesting and sustainable water management. He has also served as a member of the National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA), established by the Government of India for the conservation and management of the Ganga River. Padmashri Jadav Payeng

Forest Man of India

Padmashree Jadav Payeng (born 1959/1963) is a visionary environmental activist and forestry worker from Assam, known asthe "Forest Man of India." He single-handedly transformed a barren sand dune along the Brahmaputra River into a dense forest (Molai Forest) ofover 1,400 acres. Padma Shri | Environmentalist & Forest Conservationist | “Forest Man of India” Shri Jadav “Molai” Payeng is a renowned Indian environmentalist and forest conservationist from Majuli, Assam, widely known as the “Forest Man of India.” He has dedicated several decades of his life to restoring forests, protecting biodiversity and promoting environmental sustainability. His remarkable journey began in 1979, when a flood on the Brahmaputra River left a barren sandbar where numerous snakes died due to extreme heat. Deeply affected by the incident, Payeng began planting bamboo and continued planting and nurturing trees for decades. His sustained efforts transformed the once-barren sandbar into a thriving forest. Today, the Molai Forest, located near Jorhat, Assam, covers approximately 1,360 acres (550 hectares) and has become a significant natural habitat for diverse flora and fauna, including elephants, rhinoceroses, deer, monkeys and numerous species of birds. Payeng’s extraordinary achievement demonstrates the power of individual commitment, perseverance and community-oriented environmental action. His work has become an inspiring example of afforestation, ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to environmental conservation, he was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri in 2015. He has also received several national and international recognitions and has been awarded honorary doctorates by Assam Agricultural University and Kaziranga University. Shri Jadav Payeng’s life is a remarkable testament to the belief that one determined individual can create a lasting impact on nature and inspire generations to protect the environment.

Padmashri Ravindra Kumar Sinha

Ravindra Kumar Sinha is a Padma Shri awarded Indian biologist and environmentalist. He served as Vice-Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University from 2019-2023 and also served in Nalanda Open University. Previously he was the Head of the Department of Zoology at Patna University, and is a pioneer researcher and wildlife conservationist, famous for his efforts for the conservation of Gangetic Dolphins, he is popularly known as the "Dolphin Man of India". Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha Padma Shri | Biologist & Environmentalist | “Dolphin Man of India” Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha is a distinguished Indian biologist, environmentalist and wildlife conservationist, popularly known as the “Dolphin Man of India.” For over four decades, he has dedicated his research and conservation efforts to protecting the Gangetic River Dolphin. He served as the Vice-Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (2019–2023) and previously headed the Department of Zoology at Patna University. His extensive research and awareness campaigns have played an important role in strengthening national attention towards the conservation of the Gangetic Dolphin. Prof. Sinha conducted extensive surveys of the Ganga and its tributaries and contributed significantly to the establishment of the Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary, Bhagalpur. His efforts also contributed to the recognition of the Gangetic Dolphin as India’s National Aquatic Animal in 2009. He has published over 100 research papers, books and technical reports on river biodiversity and dolphin conservation. In 2016, he was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India for his outstanding contribution to environmental conservation.
